Minutes were read. Lyle gave the treasurers report. Balance $14l.30 spent $95.00 silver, balance $36.30. Joanne welcomed new members to our club the McKee family. Joanne presented Dan Autrey his 500 coin plaque and Jim Wilson his 750 plaque for coins found in a month. Copies of the By-Laws were passed out. Please read the By-Laws and write down what you would like to change or any up dates we should make in the By-Laws. One thing we will need to change in the By-Laws is a foreign coin category on the board. The hunter of the year trophy and officer plaques have been ordered. The Treasurer is looking into ordering hats, shirts and jackets to be on sale at the hunt. Best Find of the year went to Frank Griffith. Congratulations Frank. Remember: Dues are Due. You have until the March meeting to pay your dues. Hunt News: The coins for the hunt have been ordered. We sent letters to the detector dealers and are awaiting replies. The Hunt Site is secured at Horn Rapids Park (than you Kim). The Hunt Flyers have been sent out. If you need one, see Jo Anne or Steve. We have contacted the magazines and put Hunt announcements in them. Now we need all the help we can get on donations. Remember the highest amount donated each month, that person will receive a half dollar donated by Lyle. When you get a donation, please get a business card so we can sent a thank you, and also write on the back of the card the items donated. Reserve your campsite for the hunt soon. They are already filling up. We will keep you informed next month on the progress. The silver round was won by Jim Davis, 50cents went to Chris Hulse, 50/50 Helen Lynn. Mark your calendars: Feb. Meeting is Feb. 24, last Tuesday of the month. March meeting is March 17th. - = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = - CLUB PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Hello Everyone; We are beginning a new year and that means a fresh start in detecting for the year. Congratulations to Frank Griffith for Hunter of the Year 2008. Good Job Frank! Now is the time to get out as much as possible and see what goodies you can find. I know the weather has been cold but it will be gone soon. Let's see that board full at each meeting. It's good to know I have all of you to help me run this club. It is our club. And there is not one person who can do it alone. I need your help cuz I am new at this. I promise to do my best, but you can help me too. We have a good group of people and a good club. Let's have fun this year and support each other. There is a lot of competition, but let's keep it friendly because no treasure is worth a friendship. Remember, the easiest way to have the last word is to be the first to apologize. Feb is Valentine's month and you might want to consider giving that special person a valentine card, you can even give one to club members if you like, but in case you don't know it, YOU are special. I am looking forward to this year. I hope you are and that we can enjoy each other and have a lot of fun. Well, you all have a good month and dig deep for the goodies!
